How can we join Harbor Network?

Four steps for existing churches

Why church adoption?

Every church needs great partnerships because practical gospel partnerships provide the safety and support churches and their leaders need to thrive.

When we humbly consider the global scope of the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8), it’s clear that the mission to which God has called his Church is more than one local church can accomplish alone. Network partnership provides a great amount of support and belonging for churches, as well as an opportunity to contribute to the needs of others across the country.

Harbor Network is passionate about seeing more thriving churches, because as churches thrive more churches are launched and more people—both now and in future generations—can experience lasting renewal through Jesus Christ. Yet in order for churches to thrive, they need a place to find rest, renewal, and resources. This is why many are eager to partner and collaborate.

Step 1: Attend the alignment

The Alignment Intensive is a live webinar led by network leaders and attended by pastors and church planters from across the country. This 3-hour event serves as an overview to the network, covering such topics as our partnership principles, theological beliefs, and core values, as well as the benefits and expectations of network membership. You are encouraged to attend alongside your entire team.

Step 2: complete church profile

The Church Adoption Profile paints a picture of your church context, combining objective data and subjective perspective allows our Church Adoption Team to assess the fit of a potential church desiring to partner with Harbor Network. Once completed by the lead pastor, the profile is reviewed by the Church Adoption Team. If the profile clarifies future partnership, next is the On-Site Visit.

Step 3: on-site visit

Every existing church is required to complete an On-Site Visit prior to joining. This visit will be conducted by 2-4 members of our Church Adoption Team and helps determine whether the partnership is a good fit for both the church and the network. Additionally, this visit provides an opportunity to deepen relationships, clarify outstanding questions, and bring key participants in the church (elders, deacons, staff, members, etc.) into the final decision to join Harbor Network.

Step 4: join

As a new member of the Harbor Network family, you now have full access to the fruit of partnership enjoyed by member churches.. These ministries are the tangible expressions of the cycles and strength and circles of safety that help our leaders launch, lead, and multiply thriving churches. A network staff member will be your guide through this process, connecting you to key network ministries and information, as well as making relational connections and a public welcome to the network.
